Confirmation
by Nia Malika Dixon, from “A Notebook for Heartbreak”
Never let me go
even when I’m
at the bottom
again.
Maybe a different one
swallowed up by the depths.
And, the waves.
And I see the dark, dirty
Turquoise and Indigo
Waters
Enveloping me.
Remind me that YOU pump
through my veins.
My blood runs in rivers and
tributaries, feeding me YOUR light.
Glowing in my arteries.
Pulsing my aorta.
Nur that glimmers
Glints
Sparks
Shines
Radiates
Love,
that pulls me up and
guides me through
my darkness
every
single
time.
Never let me go.
Never let my light go out.
Keep me forever in your hands
and hold me forever close.
Because YOU LOVE ME.
I AM ME because
YOU LOVE ME.
Al-Wadud.
My Lord.
My GOD.
Never
Let
Me
Go.
*What To Do Haiku
Stillness, I am not.
Inside motor running fast.
I hum and create.
*Love
I have more than I
thought possible to receive.
God LOVES me, I know.
*Understanding
I have a talent
for feeling what you feel and,
you’ll know I get you.
*Poem for the Rain
Gray clouds hang thick and heavy
Over my head, and drip
Thoughts of warm tea and soft blankets
Into my mind as I
Look out the window
And breathe in deep, long
Gulps of peppermint
Or apple cinnamon,
And thank God for my
Peaceful moments.
